As the family was feeding the fish, a massive tarpon – a powerful, predatory fish known for its impressive size and strength – decided to make its presence known in a rather dramatic fashion.

"Mom was like, 'It's just a fish, how bad could it be?' And then, $8," the narrator says, recounting the moment the tarpon slapped the family member's hand with its powerful tail.

Tarpon can grow over 7 feet long and are renowned for their ability to leap out of the water and put up a fierce fight. Clearly, this particular tarpon was not one to be trifled with.

"Mom just stood there, holding her hand, like, 'Did I just get slapped by a sea noodle?'" the narrator recalls. "She said she's never trusting a fish again."
